My story

I worked in the corporate world for 12 years and was a successful project manager, overseeing various teams and delivering successful outcomes. Throughout my career, I had always prioritized professionalism and efficiency, ensuring that projects were completed on time and within budget. However, in December 2021, amidst a team-building event, something unexpected happened that made me rethink my approach to project management. It was during the award ceremony for the winning team members that I heard my name being called out for the Best Dressed award. The room erupted in applause, and I found myself standing on the stage, holding the award with a mix of surprise and amusement. While this particular award may not have been as prestigious or serious as others like ”Achiever of the year" or ”Mountain mover," it sparked a different kind of reflection within me. It made me contemplate the notion of personal style and the importance of presenting oneself in the workplace. It made me question whether I had been too absorbed in the technical aspects of project management, neglecting the human element and the impact that personal expression can have on team dynamics and morale. As I stood there, amidst the cheers and laughter, I realized that this seemingly light-hearted award had opened my eyes to a deeper understanding of the projects I truly wanted to manage.

During long workshops with my colleagues, I often found myself not just focusing on optimizing supply lead-times but also pondering over intriguing sartorial choices. It's fascinating how men can effortlessly pull off short-sleeved shirts with floral prints, exuding a sense of subtle confidence. Likewise, my female colleague's clothing choices, like the specific mini-skirt paired with black tights and flats, intrigued me, leaving me curious about the inspiration behind her stylish ensemble.

In December 2021, my clothing style wasn't flashy or bold, but rather modest. However, what truly set me apart from my colleagues was my keen ability to always coordinate my outfit perfectly with each occasion and location. Not only did I pay careful attention to the clothing itself, but I also delighted in selecting the ideal accessories to complement my ensemble. By skillfully incorporating pops of color into my outfits, I was able to transform even the simplest attire into a striking and memorable look. Knowing that these seemingly small details made me stand out and leave a lasting impression on others was undeniably satisfying.

Throughout the next 2 years, I embarked on an exciting journey of self-discovery, delving into various styles and fashion trends. The unexpected circumstances brought about by the global pandemic allowed me to uncover the hidden beauty of the 'home office chick' aesthetic :), a style that perfectly blended comfort and elegance. It was during this time that I also honed my skills in styling others, and I am forever grateful to my friends who supported me in this creative endeavor. These experiences paved the way for me to establish my very own project, one that focuses on empowering women in the business world to achieve their well-deserved 'Best Dressed' award.
